Hines: I have unfinished business in BTCC

United Autosports' new driver Luke Hines says he can't wait to get back into the championship, after being unveiled as the team's replacement for Glynn Geddie this afternoon.

Hines first raced in the BTCC in 2003, off the back of a successful Formula Ford career with JLR, the team owned by United Autosports MD Richard Dean.

Driving a Honda Civic in the Production class for Barwell Motorsport., he took the class title and caught the eye of bigger teams.

The following season he joined reigning manufacturers' champions Vauxhall, winning races at Brands Hatch and Snetterton as well as taking two other podium finishes.

He switched to SEAT Sport in 2005, picking up a further victory at Silverstone and finishing ninth overall in the championship.

Moving away from the BTCC in 2006, Hines went on to race in the British and FIA GT Championships, European Le Mans Series and in the Daytona and Spa 24 hour races.

"I raced in the championship previously between 2003 to 2005," he added, "I've taken podiums and wins and I can't wait to get my hands on the car. I'm not just going to make up the numbers, I'm excited and I have a lot of unfinished business in the BTCC..
