Series 9

1. To the Lighthouse

Martin's medical career remains under scrutiny as a GMC representative comes to assess Martin and his surgery. Al accidentally proposes to Morwenna and Mrs Tishell has a new lease on life. Meanwhile, Mel pries into a sibling for James Ellingham.

2. The Shock of the New

Martin's GMC report requires he passes three refresher courses, starting with phlebotomy. Louisa is focused on her new career as a child and adolescent counsellor. Much to Bert's dismay, Al hires Caitlin, and confesses to his accidental proposal.

3. S.W.A.L.K.

Louisa has planned a special evening for Martin's birthday, which doesn't go to plan because of Al's surprise engagement party for Morwenna.

4. Paint It Black

Martin has his second GMC assessment - mock surgery - and Buddy is missing. Ken's arrival doesn't bring good news for Al and Bert, and Penhale isn't happy with the arrival of his predecessor, Mark Mylow, who tries to take charge of his investigation.

5. Wild West Country

6. Equilibrium

Martin and Louisa have their first fertility appointment. Penhale responds to a case of vandalism and gets a free surf lesson. Louisa has her first supervised session and Caitlin has Al working at the shop. Morwenna responds to her first emergency.

7. Single White Bevy

Mrs Tishell sends her work experience packing and Martin has to rush Buddy up to Angela. Al is officially moving in with Morwenna, which thrills Caitlin more than Bert. Louisa learns the hard way that she shouldn't see her client unsupervised.

8. Licence to Practice

Martin rushes to Ruth's for a medical emergency, but quickly realises the problem is him. Wedding bells are ringing in preparation for Morwenna and Al's wedding, but all doesn't go to plan, and neither does Martin's final GMC assessment.
