Victoria Beckham reaches number one in the iTunes singles chart after fan campaign

Victoria Beckham's song Not Such an Innocent Girl has reached number one in the iTunes chart after a social media campaign launched in the wake of the public feud between her and her son Brooklyn.
The campaign described the fact that Victoria Beckham is the only former Spice Girl not to have a number one for her solo work as a "national tragedy".
Encouraging fans of Posh Spice to stream or download her track, organisers of the campaign said: "Nothing says British culture like collectively deciding to send Posh to the top of the charts because her song roasted her on Insta. Imagine both their faces.
"Let's get her that number one for plot twist of the year."
The campaign comes after Brooklyn Beckham posted a public statement on his Instagram earlier this week, in which he called out his family for a variety of issues.
Whilst Victoria's song may currently hold the top spot in the iTunes chart, that does not necessarily mean she will chart in number one when the official list is announced tomorrow.
The iTunes chart remains separate from the official UK top 40 charts, which are announced tomorrow.
These take into account all sales and streams of music, including Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube streams and physical sales.
One purchase of a song on Apple Music is equal to roughly 150 streams of the same track when popularity is calculated for the charts.
Not Such an Innocent Girl was Victoria Beckham's debut single in 2001 following her time in the Spice Girls.
Despite her fame at the time, it was beaten to the top spot by Australian singer Kylie Minogue's Can't Get You Out Of My Head, placing at six in the UK charts.

The interest in Victoria's music comes after the public feud between her son and the rest of the Beckham family was thrust into the spotlight earlier this week.
In a lengthy social media post, her eldest son Brooklyn, accused her and her husband David of inappropriate and controlling behaviour, saying he had no interest in reconciling with his parents after rumours of a rift had been circulating for months.
The public spat is a rare moment of vulnerability in a usually tightly controlled public image.
The Beckhams have yet to publicly respond to their son's statement, though their youngest son Cruz did post a story on social media featuring his mom Posh Spice's song.
The official UK singles chart is announced on Friday afternoon on BBC Radio One.
