Paw-litics in action: Dogs photographed outside polling stations

It's election day in parts of England, Scotland, and Wales, and as the country heads to the polls, the tradition of dogs at polling stations continues across the UK.
The trend of photographing dogs at polling stations has grown in recent years, with the accompanying hashtag and internet acclaim.
Most polling stations do not allow dogs inside to avoid disrupting voters.
Additionally, photography inside polling stations is prohibited to avoid unintentionally exposing someone's ballot, a crime that could result in a fine of up to £5,000 or six months in prison.
The photos outside voting stations are often picked up by broadcasters who are restricted by what they can and can't say on polling day and welcome the picture as a way of reporting the election.
Political leaders have also got in on the action, with former PM Boris Johnson taking his dog Dilyn, and the current Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan's Luna, regularly making appearances.
Read on to see just some of the 2026 elections' dogs at polling station photos.
