Southend Airport has announced the opening of a new daily route to Dublin. The Aer Arann flights will also allow passengers to make trans-Atlantic connections on Aer Lingus flights to New York, Boston, Chicago and Orlando.

Travellers flying to the US will benefit from a unique Customs and Immigrations pre-clearance facility at Dublin Airport that will allow them to arrive in America as domestic passengers.

It's hoped that the new services will also boost tourism in Essex with passengers arriving at Southend from America and the Republic of Ireland.
