Three-tier cake found dumped in Hertfordshire lay-by

East Herts Council are appealing for information after finding a three-tier cake, decorated with flowers, dumped in a lay-by.

The cake was found in North Road between Hertford and Stevenage yesterday morning.

The council has now asked Twitter if anyone recognises the cake, tweeting "Were you at a wedding this weekend? Do you recognise this cake? Please let us know."

One Twitter user responded by saying there was 'no way' the cake was a wedding cake as the colours of the decorative icing was not 'on trend'.

Another user suggested the council check the registry office for any cancelled weddings over the weekend, while another mourned 'the waste of a good cake.'
