Man and woman arrested over 'murder plot' after anti-terror raid in Hull

A man and a woman have been arrested over a suspected murder plot after a "pre-planned" counter-terrorism operation in Hull.
The pair, both aged 23, were taken in for questioning on suspicion of conspiracy to murder following the operation Morpeth Street. The man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a weapon.
Bomb disposal experts were called and searches at a property in Hull remained ongoing on Thursday afternoon.
Police have released no further details about the allegations.
A spokesperson for Counter Terrorism Policing North East said: "We understand that local community may have concerns as a result of this activity. We would like to reassure them that this arrest is pre-planned and intelligence led and there is not believed to be any immediate risk to the local community.
"Following the discovery of potentially suspicious items at the residential address, the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit (EOD) have been called to provide expert advice as a precautionary measure.
"The fire service has also been in attendance."
Humberside Police said it was stepping up patrols following the arrests.
