Investigation after man dies in Rotherham explosion

A man has died after an explosion in Rotherham.

Emergency services were called to Clifton Mount at 1.18pm on Tuesday. The man was found dead at the scene.

South Yorkshire Police said it was working with South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service to determine the cause of the explosion.

"Initial enquiries indicate that there is no risk to the wider community," a spokesperson said.

Clifton Mount was closed but has since been reopened.
