Katrina, a care worker, married her long-term partner, Jay Scott, in Royal Derby Hospital on November 14th and died the next day.

Friends of the family appealed for Christmas presents for Katrina's children, aged six upwards, to take the pressure off her husband.

Hundreds of people lined the streets for Katrina's funeral in December.

When I saw how much they got I was just appreciative.

Someone anonymously donated £1,000 so I bought them some clothes and a PS4 which is something we wouldn't ordinarily afford.

It's nice to have people like that in the community. It helped the kids through it."

On Christmas day the children's grandad cooked a Christmas dinner for the family.

Jay said he kept back some of the presents to use as rewards throughout the year and for the children's birthdays.

It was hard, but it was as special as it could be."
