A woman has denied murdering Louis Price in Staffordshire on Christmas day.

Staffordshire Police were called to a report of a man in cardiac arrest at a house on Elm Road in Norton Canes near Cannock in the early hours of 25 December 2024.

Despite medical efforts by emergency services, the 31-year-old could not be saved.

Kirsty Carless appeared at Stafford Crown Court charged with the murder of the "well loved" father-of-six.

The 33-year-old of Haling Way, Cannock spoke only to confirm her name and to enter a not guilty plea during the ten minute hearing.

Carless was remanded into custody and will appear again for a pre-trial review in May.

The three week trial at Stafford is due to last three weeks and begin in the middle of July

In a statement released after his death, Mr Price’s family described him as a “well-known member of the community” who was “well-loved” and always smiling.

They said: “He always had time for anyone and would help anyone he could."

"We are devastated at losing Louis"

His family added: “Louis was well-loved by his family and closest friends. He was a well-known member of the community, always had a smile on his face and brought a positive energy to anywhere he went."

“Louis was a devoted fisherman, he had a passion for fishing and regularly went away on trips with friends and family.

“He loved football, he played for a team and was a lifelong supporter of Aston Villa.”

“As a family we are devastated at losing Louis. Life will never be the same without him, he leaves a huge hole in the lives of everyone who knew him. Christmas is a time we have always spent together as a family, to lose Louis at this time is even harder.

“Louis leaves behind his Mom, Dad, Brother and Sister, along with his six children. He has four daughters and two sons who he loved dearly. Louis had a big heart, he loved those closest to him."
