Two men charged with assault after double stabbing in Longsight

Two men have been charged in connection with a stabbing which left two people with serious injuries.

A 16-year-old boy and a man, 20, were seriously injured in the incident which happened in the area of Rushford Street and Purcell Street in Longsight, Manchester, shortly before 7pm on Tuesday, 4 February.

Police say both victims of the "targeted" attack were left with serious injuries and remain in hospital for treatment.

Mohammed Ali Saim, 20, of Aston Avenue, and Adam Mehdi Benaicha, 21, of Waverton Road, have both been charged with a Section 18 assault and possession of an offensive weapon.

Greater Manchester Police say they have been remanded in custody and will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates on Friday, 7 February.
