Police searching for man after woman pushed from van and dragged along street in Preston

Police are searching for a man after a woman was pushed from a van and dragged along a street.

Officers are trying to find Benjamin Chell, 37, who is wanted in connection with the alleged assault on Brook Street in Preston in January.

Lancashire Police said the woman was pushed from the van which was then driven off with her still clinging on to the side window.

Chell is around 6ft tall, stocky, with short brown hair and beard, and police say he "could be in Burnley" although he also has links to Preston, Hesketh Bank and Liverpool.

Posting on Facebook on 6 February, a force spokesperson said: "Have you seen Benjamin Chell who is wanted and could be in Burnley?

"We want to speak to Chell as part of our enquiries into an assault where a woman was pushed out of a van in Brook Street, Preston, in January

"The van was then driven off with the woman holding on to the side window."

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
