Dangerous driver tops 118mph and heads wrong way down dual carriageway

Video footage released by police shows a dangerous driver speeding at 118mph as he tries to escape officers.

A marked police car signalled for 29-year-old Colin Pollard to stop his car in Crawley, West Sussex.

But instead he sped up to 80mph in the 40mph zone, driving the wrong way down a slip road and twice around a roundabout before exiting on the wrong side of the road.

Pollard was also seen driving at more than 90mph in a 30mph zone and reaching 98mph where the speed limit was 50mph.

He was eventually stopped on the M23 where police say he reached speeds of 118mph.

Pollard, from East Grinstead, was jailed for a year at Brighton Crown Court after he admitted dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and failing to stop for police.
