Investigations underway after reports of youths smashing bottles and fighting in Alton supermarket

Hampshire police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Alton last night (Friday 11 April).
They were called at around 7.30pm on Friday to reports of a group of youths smashing bottles and fighting inside Waitrose on Station Road.
The authority said a 23-year-old man suffered a suspected stab wound to his hand and was taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
There were reports of a further altercation within the railway station car park nearby.
A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and affray.
A 15-year-old boy from Alton was arrested on suspicion of affray.
A 16-year-old boy from Alton was arrested on suspicion of affray and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
A 13-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy, both from Alton, were arrested on suspicion of affray.
They all remain in custody at this time.
