Police appeal to trace a man following a report of a sexual assault on the Tyne and Wear Metro

Police are appealing to the public to help trace the man pictured following a report of a sexual assault on a Metro.

Officers are investigating after the female commuter was allegedly groped over the clothing as she travelled on a Metro from Gateshead to Pelaw.

The man, who is described as white, around 6ft tall, wearing dark rectangle framed glasses, a black puffer style jacket and carrying a bag was seen on CCTV in the area at that time.

He may be able to assist officers with their enquiries into the incident, which is being treated as sexual assault.
