Pontypridd Cynon Merthyr: The election issues and Senedd 2026 candidates in your constituency

The countdown to polling day for the 2026 Senedd Election is underway.
Voters will head to polling stations on 7 May to cast their vote, choosing the party or independent candidate they want to represent their area in the Senedd.
This year there are some major changes coming in, including new constituency boundaries.
Wales is now divided into 16 constituencies and six Senedd Members will be elected in each one - totalling 96 MSs overall.
Political parties can put forward up to eight candidates for each constituency.
Pontypridd Cynon Merthyr combines place like Pontypridd, Llantrisant and Aberdare. It combines parts of Merthyr Tydfil County and Rhondda Cynon Taf
