Bristol's new mayor Marvin Rees selects cabinet with councillors from a number of parties

The new mayor of Bristol Marvin Rees has named his cabinet and as promised it contains faces from across the political spectrum.

Joining the Mayor in the Cabinet are six councillors from Labour and one each from the Conservative Party, Green Party and Liberal Democrats.

They will each take on roles with responsibilities delegated by the Mayor.

The cabinet in full is:

  • Cllr Estella Tincknell (Lab) – Deputy Mayor with special responsibility for Democracy, Culture, Policy, Strategy & Communications, International

  • Cllr Mark Bradshaw (Lab) – Cabinet Member for Transport

  • Cllr Clare Campion-Smith (Lib Dem) – Cabinet Member for People

  • Cllr Craig Cheney (Lab) – Cabinet Member for Finance, Governance and Performance

  • Cllr Fi Hance (Green) – Cabinet Member for City Health and Wellbeing

  • Cllr Marg Hickman (Lab) – Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods

  • Cllr Claire Hiscott (Con) – Cabinet Member for Education and Skills

  • Cllr Helen Holland (Lab) – Cabinet Member for Place

  • Cllr Paul Smith (Lab) – Cabinet Member for Homes

Cllr Estella Tincknell, the new Deputy Mayor of Bristol, said:

All of the Cabinet Members will take up their posts after the council’s Annual General Meeting on 31 May. The first formal Cabinet meeting is 7 June.
