The MP for South Bristol is holding a debate in Parliament today, Monday 8 October, on air weapon safety, following an incident in which a toddler was shot in the head.

Karin Smyth will speak about the control of air rifles after 18-month-old toddler Harry Studley, from Hartcliffe, was critically injured by a shot to the head in July 2016.

Jordan Walters from Bristol was sentenced to two years in prison for grievous bodily harm in February.

His mother, Amy Allen told ITV News how she feared Harry had died when she heard the gunshot, during a visit to the home of Jordan Walters and Emma Horseman.

Harry needed emergency surgery and had to wear a special helmet to protect his head.

Emma Horseman was cleared at Bristol Crown Court in January this year, of unlawfully and maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm by aiding or abetting an offender.
