Boy, 10, dies after being hit by a van in Wiltshire

A 10-year-old boy has died after being hit by a van in Wiltshire.

Police were called to reports of a collision between a van and a pedestrian in Oak Close, Tidworth, at around 7.05pm on Wednesday 9 July.

The boy was declared dead at the scene.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: "His next of kin are aware and our thoughts are with them at this extremely difficult time. They are being supported by specially trained officers.

"The driver of the van, a man in his 40s, stopped at the scene. No arrests were made.

"Any witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have footage is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597 quoting log number 305 of yesterday’s date (09/07).
