Much of the Anglia region will bask in temperatures 7C above average as the unseasonal March weather is set to continue over the weekend. The exception will be along the coast where mist and onshore breezes off a chilly North Sea peg temperatures back.

The warmest place in the East of England on Friday was Santon Downham in Suffolk in the heart of Thetford Forest. The temperature there reached 19.1C - the normal temperature for March is 11C. In contrast, it was misty on parts of the East coast and Weybourne in north Norfolk struggled to reach a high of 9C.

The heatwave will strike the whole of Britain, with Sunday's high expected in Scotland, while the Welsh town of Aberystwyth will show the largest rise on average temperatures. The warmest place in the UK on Friday was the South East, particularly the Surrey and Kent areas. The highest temperature on Friday in the UK was 21.3C in Charlwood, Surrey.
