"It's one of the best nights of my life": Eddie Redmayne scoops best actor prize at the Baftas
It was a great night at the Baftas for Eddie Redmayne who scooped the best actor award for his portrayal of Cambridge Professor Stephen Hawking in 'The Theory of Everything'
The success didn't stop there though, with the film also winning the outstanding British film and best adapted screenplay prizes.
Redmayne described winning the best actor award as "one of the best nights of my life".
Professor Stephen Hawking was at the ceremony to see Redmayne pick up his prize, and also to present an award himself.
It wasn't such a successful evening for Benedict Cumberbatch who left empty handed despite being nominated in three categories for his performance in 'The Imitation Game'.
The film tells the story of Alan Turing and the Bletchley Park codebreakers.
