Suffolk singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has become the first British artist to reach two billion plays on the music streaming service, Spotify.

In fact, Sheeran is only the second artist ever to reach the two billion mark - with only American rapper Eminem getting there before him.

The 24-year-old was also the site's most streamed artist in 2014, racking up a staggering 860 million hits.

Sheeran's latest album 'X' contributed to half of his Spotify total.

That was streamed 430 million times last year.
