Former Rugby League player Steve Prescott is preparing to hand over the Super League Grand Final match ball at Old Trafford this evening.
But first he will have to complete his 48-hour quadrathlon by canoeing from Runcorn to Old Trafford on the Bridgewater Canal.
Steve, who has been battling terminal cancer since 2006, spent yesterday and Thursday running across the Humber Bridge in Hull, cycling from there to Liverpool and swimming part of the River Mersey before running to Runcorn.
The 38-year-old and his team are completing the Race to Grand Final event to raise money for the Steve Prescott Foundation and the Rugby League Benevolent Fund.
The group is due to reach Old Trafford at about 3.45pm today.
Yesterday the former Saints player was battered by strong winds and rain on the coast-to-coast journey.
