FA Cup-winning skipper Emmerson Boyce will once again captain Wigan Athletic, this time in a legends team in Friday night’s Joseph’s Goal charity match against Arjan de Zeeuw’s Dutch Masters at Ashton Town.

Boyce led the legends in their inaugural fixture last year – a 10-0 victory over a Hollyoaks XI – and he will again wear the armband for what will be a far tougher assignment.

Andy Liddell also confirmed his attendance last week, joining Paul Scharner, Emile Heskey, Kevin Sharp, Stuart Barlow, Nathan Ellington, John Filan, Michael Brown, Ian Kilford, Neil Roberts, Alan Mahon, Jason Jarrett and Nicky Eaden in the squad.

The Dutch Masters line-up will feature three former Latics men, with Denny Landzaat and Jorg Smeets joining De Zeeuw in wearing orange rather than blue.

And the rest of the squad is packed full of Premier League experience, as well as a mountain of Dutch international caps. Dutch Masters: Arjan de Zeeuw, Denny Landzaat, Jorg Smeets, Michael Mols (Rangers), Glenn Helder (Arsenal), Jan Krompkamp (Liverpool), Martijn Reuser (Ipswich), Andre Ooijer (Blackburn), Sander Westerveld (Liverpool), Clyde Wijnhard (Leeds), Tim De Cler, Patrick Paauwe, Orlando Engelaar, Marco Miltenburg, Zeb Den Uyl.

Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for Under-16s, with Under-6s getting in free, and are available in person from the DW Stadium ticket office or by ringing 0871 6633552. Fans can also pay on the night at Ashton Town, but are advised to get there early as a capacity crowd is once again expected.

Joseph's Goal is a charity in the name of Joseph Kendrick. The six-year-old has NKH (Non-Ketotic Hyperglycinemia), a very rare, life-limiting genetic disorder that severely affects his development. The charity was set up to increase awareness of NKH and to raise funds for research to find better treatments and eventually a cure.

In another of the charity's events Paul Scharner and Arjan de Zeeuw will be back together at the DW Stadium for ‘An Audience With...’ on Thursday, May 12.

Both events kick-off at 7.30pm.
