Dramatic CCTV shows the moment thief stole £30k of jewellery from St Ives

Dramatic CCTV has been released showing the moment a burglar stole £30,000 worth of jewellery from a shop in St Ives.

The thief can be seen smashing the glass front door of Little Jems Jewellers in Tregenna Place and stealing the contents of two window displays.

He left the shop with at least 10 diamond rings and 20 gold bracelets.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the burglary, or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time, to get in touch.

Amber Orchard, from Little Jems, says: "The shutter had been forced open and the door had been rammed by a granite headstone. They have taken a lot of stock - mainly gold jewellery but also sapphires, diamonds, rubies and emeralds. So if anyone sees anything like that advertised cheaply, especially in the local area, please get in touch."
