In an emotional interview, Kyle Haywood, 18, broke down as he told ITV News Correspondent Ben Chapman he was "terrified" and felt "helpless" for his sister.

Police searching for the missing teenager have said they are now treating her disappearance as murder.

They have found items of clothing, along with her phone and said they are "increasingly concerned she may have come to harm".

But Kyle said her family "still has hope" and appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

"Anything that can help find my sister because I love her to bits," Kyle said.

Kayleigh was last seen on Friday evening when her family dropped her off at a community college in Ibstock, Leicestershire.

Specially trained officers are continuing to carry out searches in several locations of interest.

In a separate statement released through Leicestershire Police, Kayleigh's parents Stephanie Haywood and Martin Whitby said: “We have not seen Kayleigh since Friday. It is breaking our hearts and we are shedding tear after tear.

“We love Kayleigh so much and without her our family is incomplete. A big part of our lives has gone.

“Her brothers and sisters are constantly asking for her and if anyone knows anything we beg you to come forward.

“We just need to know what has happened to our baby girl.”

Two men, aged 27 and 28, have been arrested in connection with her disappearance and remain in police custody.
