Police: Body found is missing Kayleigh Haywood

A body found in the search for missing 15-year-old Kayleigh Haywood is believed to be the teenager, police said.

Officers made the discovery in a field at around 10pm on Wednesday.

Kayleigh, from Measham, had not been seen since about 6pm on Friday 13 November, when she was dropped off outside Ibstock Community College in Central Avenue.

Police launch murder inquiry after disappearance of Kayleigh Heywood

Police have launched a murder investigation after the disappearance of a school girl.

Kayleigh Haywood, 15, was last seen on Friday evening when her family dropped her off at a community college in Ibstock, Leicestershire.

Police say they have found items of clothing, along with her phone and are "increasingly concerned she may have come to harm".

Today we have told the family we are treating her disappearance as a murder inquiry.

We have found what we believe to be Kayleigh's phone in Ibstock and we have found items of clothing that we believe to be Kayleigh's in the Ibstock and Diseworth areas of Leicestershire.
