A campaign group says some firms are exploiting staff by forcing them to work even though they've tested positive for COVID-19.
One manufacturer in the city says they are ensuring their 50 staff members are kept safe by changing shift patterns and testing workers for COVID-19 weekly.
However, a report by a campaign group 'Labour Behind the Label' has highlighted bad practices in the industry- and says textiles factories are potentially responsible for the recent coronavirus outbreak.
Businessman Aniz Dassu said: “I think it is unfounded and unfair. There are many factories like ourselves who do really good work."
I think the Public Health enquiry published yesterday put to bed a lot of the claims to say that the sources have not been linked to any major factories.
