Cllr Roger Harmer has taken control of the council as head of an unusual coalition involving the Liberal Democrats, Greens and independents.

In his first intervention after losing his seat, John Cotton hit back after Birmingham City Council said there was “no deal” to end the industrial action.

The woman is reportedly one of a number of people offering to pay others to take their rubbish away, as the dispute rumbles on.
