A Home Office spokesperson said the department makes 'no apologies for using every means necessary to stop the boats and save lives.'

The foreign secretary is expected to use the Berlin Process Summit, in the Albanian capital of Tirana, to seek greater co-operation on the movement of migrants.

It comes as the Immigration Minister said hundreds of Albanian migrants have been returned under a 'landmark deal'.
