130 jobs could be lost in Bristol as defence contractor BAE Systems intends to close a research facility in the city.

Though the closure of the Advanced Technology Centre in Filton is not confirmed, a 45-day consultation period has started.

Redundancies have not been ruled out, but the company says staff could be moved to other technology centres.

This will give the Company greater momentum in developing the capability we need for the future ... Unfortunately these proposed changes may have implications for some employees and the Company has entered into consultation with these individuals.
