Pat Younge named Non-Executive Director, ITV Studios

Pat Younge is today named as the new Non-Executive Director for the ITV Studios Board.  An award-winning journalist and creative leader with 30 years experience working at major broadcasters in the UK and abroad, Pat takes up the role with immediate effect.

As Non-Executive Director,   Pat will share his wealth of International experience and insight to support the ITV Studios Executive team. He will assist with the ongoing implementation of the Studios strategy, offer specialist advice and help develop the business.  Pat replaces Denise O’Donoghue who previously held the role.

Pat is an executive with international experience at senior levels in journalism, commissioning, production, public service television, digital media and pay-tv, both in the UK and globally. He has held many leadership roles, with teams ranging from 10-3000 people.

Pat is currently the co-founder of and co-MD of Cardiff Productions, which he joined in May of this year from Sugar Films which he co-founded in 2015.  Previously, Pat led the BBC Television Production studio, responsible for over 2500 hours of TV programming annually across comedy, drama, entertainment, factual as well as multi-platform. Responsible for 3,000 programme makers in six bases across the UK, production from his teams  included some of the world’s biggest shows, including Strictly Come Dancing, Top Gear, Dr Who and Planet Earth.

Prior to that, Pat spent four years in the US as President of US cable network, Travel Channel Media, driving improvements in ratings, revenues and profitability. During his time, shows like Emmy award winning Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations and global break-out hit,  Man v Food, were introduced. 

Pat has also worked in BBC Sport and at Channel 4, and started his career at ITV with London Weekend Television.  A digital evangelist, his Hack The Moon project was shortlisted in this years  Webby awards.
