Border Windermere Ferry

Windermere residents who claim they are being 'cut off' from local services say a long-term solution is needed to keep their car ferry in operation.

Bosses at Westmorland and Furness Council, who operate the ferry, say recent cost increases have led to the change.

Windermere Ferry will be closed to vehicles for two weeks from Monday 27 February.
