It emerged today that former Olympic triple jumper Phillips Idowu was caught drink-driving after police were called to a domestic incident at his home.

Phillips Idowu 'forced' leave house in a hurry
Appearing today at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court Idowu was also ordered to complete community service. His solicitor, Joe Life, told the court he had been out with friends the previous night and returned home to bed.
Idowu was banned from driving for 24 months and must pay a fine of £145 and £85 costs.

Former Olympic triple jumper Phillips Idowu has been banned from driving after magistrates in Essex heard that an "emergency" forced him to drive while drunk. The 34-year-old, from Epping, pleaded guilty to driving his Land Rover while two and a half times the legal alcohol limit.
