A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a woman died and a second was critically injured when a car smashed into a Birmingham bus stop on Saturday night.
A woman in her 20's - yet to be named - was killed when a car mounted the pavement after leaving Hagley Road West on the inter-city carriageway, near Beechwood Road at around 8pm.
There were several witnesses to the tragedy and her family have been informed.
The second woman was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries and her condition is still critical.
