First Minister Carwyn Jones has made an election pledge for an £80 million drug fund for the NHS in Wales.

The Welsh Labour leader says new medicines are being developed on an almost weekly basis but many come with a very large price tag.

The aim of the fund will be to enable faster access for new treatments as soon as they're approved.

As well as making sure the Welsh NHS has the funding immediately for new drugs across the medical spectrum.

This £80m fund comes on the back of £16m we have invested since 2013 to make new high-cost, innovative medicines available to patients in Wales.
