On the 4th of May 2017 Wales heads to the polls to vote in the local council elections.
Wrexham: final results - no overall control
- Independent 26 (-2)
- Labour 12 (no change)
- Conservatives 9 (+4)
- Plaid Cymru 3 (+1)
- Liberal Democrats 2 (-3)
Labour actually won 23 seats on Wrexham council back in 2012 but the party's group of councillors has been drastically reduced by defections to the independents.
