The local elections have seen the Conservatives lose control of Lancashire - one of their flagship county councils in the country.
Lancashire slipped to No Overall Control thanks to a series of Labour gains.
Labour did gain control of Derbyshire Councty Council though - and the stalemate continued in Cumbria.

Derbyshire County Council has been won by Labour.
Results were:
Conservatives 18
Labour 43
Liberal Democrats 3

Lancashire County Council Elections 2013
Lancashire no overall control
The Conservatives have lost control of Lancashire County Council leaving the authority in no overall control.
The results were:
Labour: 39 seats
Conservative: 35 seats
Liberal Democrats: 6 seats
Independent: 3 seats
Green party: 1 seat
No overall control of Cumbria
There remains no overall control of Cumbria County Council, with Labour winning 35 seats, the Conservatives taking 26 and Liberal Democrats securing 16.
UKIP failed to win any seats in the local authority despite a successful night elsewhere in the country.
