Teenager arrested after baby girl's body found dead
A teenage girl has been arrested in connection with the death of a newborn baby girl on the Isle of Sheppey.
The remains were discovered in Broadway, Sheerness shortly before 12.50pm on Saturday 4th March.
Officers have been carrying out numerous lines of enquiry and made the arrest in the afternoon on Wednesday 8th March.
They are now ensuring the teenager's support and welfare is being taken care of.

Report: Urgent appeal to find mother of dead baby girl
Kent Police is continuing to make urgent appeals tonight to locate the mother of a baby girl found dead in a park in Sheerness.
The infant's remains were discovered in the Broadway area yesterday afternoon and part of a park and promenade were cordoned off while forensic teams searched the area. Sarah Saunders reports.

More heartbreaking details have been released about the discovery of a baby girl's body at a park in Sheerness.
Kent Police have told Meridian Tonight they believe the baby to have been newly born.
The identity and age of the girl is not currently known, and neither is the cause of death
Her remains were found in Broadway on Saturday afternoon.
Police have also revealed that the remnants of a small fire were located at the scene and it is believed this was started between 10am and 12.30pm, shortly before the body was found.

Kent Police are anxious to trace the mother amid concerns for her wellbeing and physical health.
They're urging anyone who knows anything about the circumstances to come forward, and promising that any information will be handled sensitively.

Kent Police called to reports of dead baby
There are reports a dead baby has been found in Kent.
The force received a report of an infant's remains in Broadway, Sheerness at 12.48pm today.
The age and identity is not currently known and neither is the cause of death.
Officers are at the scene conducting enquiries and are keen to hear from anyone who may have information that can help them establish the circumstances.
Those that do come forward should know that the information will be handled in a sensitive way.
