93-year-old dies of injuries
Emma Winnall, 93, who was attacked in her home in Moseley in Birmingham nearly a month ago, has died this morning of complications arising from her injuries. Police are now treating the case as a murder investigation.
Police renew appeal to catch pensioner's killer
Police say that given the extent of Mrs Winnall's injuries, her age and her vulnerability, their investigation had always been treated with the same level of seriousness as a murder inquiry.
Officers managed to speak to the 93-year-old in hospital in the days following her attack.
