Cuadrilla 'pleased' with Lancashire site decision

Oil company Cuadrilla has welcomed the decision by planning officers to recommend that its application for a fracking site for Preston New Road be approved.

A statement said: "We are pleased that Lancashire County Council’s Planning Officers have recommended that the Councils’ Development Control Committee grant planning consent for our application at Preston New Road."

But the firm added that they were "disappointed" that their proposal for a second site in Roseacre Wood in Lancashire received a "negative recommendation".

"We will await the Councillors’ decisions on both these applications at the end of June", the statement added.
