Princess Royal visits Borders for Diamond Jubilee Celebrations

The Princess Royal will visit the Scottish Borders today where she will carry out a number of duties.
Princess Anne will begin her visit by representing the Queen at a Thanksgiving Service to mark Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee in Melrose Parish Church.
Her Royal Highness will be joined by 600 guests including Lord-lieutenant's from the region.
She will then head to Glen Estate, near Innerleithen, where she will plant a cherry tree to mark the creation of the Grieston Hill Diamond Jubilee Wood.
Finally, Princess Anne will attend a Reception held by the Scottish Borders Council where she will meet representatives from various voluntary and other organisations throughout the Borders.
During the reception she will also present British Empire Medals to Elizabeth Brown and John Falla.
