Climber dies on Scafell
A climber has died in the popular walking spot of Scafell in Cumbria. Police say the man, who was walking with a companion fell around 600 feet on Lord Rake's Traverse after slipping on frozen snow and ice.

Inspector Dennis Kelly from Cumbria Police, has confirmed that the climber who fell to his death on Scafell mountain was from west Yorkshire and was believed to be in his 50's:
