A229 in Maidstone reopens after fatal road accident

The A229 in Maidstone has now re-opened following a fatal accident in the early hours of this morning.

Emergency services were called to a collision involving one car on Royal Engineers' Road at 3.37am.

It happened on the slip road towards the Running Horse roundabout. The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

His relatives have been informed

The slip-road from the A229 onto the Running Horse roundabout will remain closed for much of the day as investigations continue.
