Apple has announced new models of its iPad, iPhone and Apple TV at an event in the US:

• The iPad Pro comes with a larger 12.9-inch screen as well as a bigger keyboard.

• The new version of Apple TV has a touch sensitive remote control, voice search and an App Store.

• The latest iPhone models - the 6S and 6S Plus - have a feature called 3D Touch which allows the phone to provide different functions based on how lightly or firmly the screen is pressed.

The feature allows the phones to provide different functions based on how lightly or firmly the screen is pressed.

By pressing lightly on the screen, users will see a preview of the content such as a email or text message. Pressing harder will take the user to the full content.

The iPhone 6S and 6S Plus will also feature a 12 megapixel camera.

The new phones, which Apple CEO Tim Cook described as the "most advanced smartphones in the world" will be available in four metallic colours - silver, gold, space grey and rose gold. They will run the new operating system, iOS 9, which will be available on other iPhones and iPads from 16 September.

The phones can be pre-ordered in the UK on Saturday 12 September, and will be available on September 26.

Apple has launched the next version of its Apple TV streaming device, featuring a touch sensitive remote control, voice search and an App Store.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said at a press event. "We believe the future of television is apps". The device features an app store that gives consumers access to multiplayer games and TV apps. Apple Music will also be available.

Users will be able to voice control Apple TV to search for movies and TV show titles or genres.

Apple TV will be on sale in the UK in October.

Apple unveils new Pencil for iPad Pro

The new iPad Pro will be usable with the Apple Pencil, Apple has announced.

The Pencil is touch sensitive so the harder the pressure on the scree, the darker the writing becomes. It also allows users to use fingers and pencil at the same time. The pencil is powered, so will require recharging.

Apple has launched a new version of its best-selling iPad tablet - the iPad Pro.

The iPad Pro comes with a larger 12.9-inch screen - a third bigger than the previous iteration - as well as a bigger keyboard.

Apple senior VP of marketing Phil Schiller said the Pro was designed for business users as an alternative to laptops.

"[It] lets you do things you can't do with a notebook," Schiller said. "With a bigger screen iPad, your TV shows and movies are more cinematic. Games we play are more immersive and powerful."

The tablet will have 10 hours of battery life and is equipped with four speakers.

The basic model will cost $799 in the US, with UK pricing to be announced.

Apple launches new watch collection

Apple have unveiled the latest iterations of the Apple Watch which will be on sale this month.

WatchOS 2 will be available from 16 September, Apple CEO Tim Cook said at the launch event in San Francisco.

He also announced a partnership deal with luxury brand, Hermes, as well as revealing more colours and bands to the range.
