Ballymena edge out Mallards

Ballymena United edged out Ballinamallard 1-0 to pick up their first win of the campaign at Ferney Park on Saturday.

In what was a tense encounter, the only goal of the game came from the penalty spot - with Tony Kane finding the mark in the 65th after a foul by Mallards keeper James McGrath.

The result sees the Sky Blues move up to sixth in the standings, while Ballinamallard drop to 11th.

Ballymena will take on Ards in their next game, while Ballinamallard will face Carrick Rangers.
