38 schoolgirls from Leicester stranded in New York after Superstorm Sandy have returned home.

The sixth formers from Leicester High School for Girls were on a cultural trip to the city but were forced to cancel a trip to Washington because of the hurricane, which brought gusts of over 85mph and severe flooding to thousands of homes across the East coast of the United States.
