Theatre evacuated during Les Miserables performance
The cast, crew and the audience of Les Miserables have been evacuated from the Queen's Theatre in central London after a small fire was reported.
Overheating electrical equipment led to Les Miserables evacuation
An overheated piece of electrical equipment has been blamed for the evacuation of London's Queen's Theatre midway through a matinee performance of Les Miserables.
Cast and crew of the popular West End musical were evacuated onto the street in full costume, and were seen mingling with audience members outside the theatre.
A spokeswoman for London fire brigade said: "There has been no fire but a transformer in part of the threatre has overheated. The auditorium itself has not been affected."
